Delight. Interest. Create.
Something I've been thinking about as we enter a New Year, how do I want to BE daily. The tiny things we do daily, thoughts we think moment to moment, the way we respond to our world, is our life. Often, routines become, well routine and rather numbing, robotic.
This year, I strive to mix things up! Change habits, change routines, do tiny things that delight me each day.
Things that fulfill, interest and inspire me =
• learning new things
• being at high elevation on a mountain
• the quiet stillness of where I live in Spray
• creating slowly with my film camera
• helping someone learn something new
• conversing with the older generation
• art museum exploration
• rearranging my space
• my dogs delighting me with their antics
BEING in 2026
There are so many ways to be in this evolving world of ours. We can decide to be with others, or by ourselves, be open or closed, be happy or sad...it's a choice. January is a favorite month, feeling like a clean slate to start anew. What to leave behind, what to draw forth? What to focus on, what to eliminate?
Focusing can be tricky with all the things that can distract us. I've worked hard, daily last year, to find ways to stay in the groove and bring ideas to completion. I've found some wonderful tools and people in my corner to collaborate with.
What a great feeling! <sigh of relief>
If January is a hard month for you or if you’re not sure which direction to go, have analysis paralysis OR would just love someone to bounce ideas off of, be in touch! I love meeting and helping new people, anywhere, because we CAN do that so easily now! Let’s ZOOOOM!
MEDITATION MUSINGS
I'm in two intention meditation groups. The people are lovely, some new to me, and we are learning from each other.
Speaking of meditation, when I think of places in the world I love the most, Northern India comes to mind.
There is something so powerful, spiritual and grounding being in high altitudes in the company of those who live off the land. One can feel it in the air, the sights, sounds and lovely people inhabiting this land.
What do you do that keeps you grounded, calm, peaceful and feeling safe?
What would you like more of in 2026
What would you like to do/see/be more of this year?
For me, it's more writing, using film, creating moving images, reading, book collecting, meeting new people, finishing projects.
I rarely share reflections like these, about me, my work etc. It feels now more than ever, we need to come together, BE with one another and support each other and share what is in our hearts.
I wish you all a beautiful year, finding the meaning in your day-to-day, being present because how you BE daily, IS your life.
As ever,
Sarah
